Pocket Casts: Podcast Player App Reviews

Casts is generally functional, most of the time. Periodically it freezes, it drops podcast subscriptions, and search often cant find popular podcasts that I know darn well exist, for example Bloomberg news. The most annoying thing however is a feature which I complained about with their customer support: default play mode is not to play them in order, it jumps back to other items on the queue. To "play all from here" you have to hold down, and then select this option. Every time you want this behavior, which is a constant source of irritation for me because the order of play matters. I told them I thought this would be a saber default, the CS rep said they thought otherwise

First off, this app seems more stable than than the Apple Podcasts app and the up next list works well. The interface is ok although Id prefer a list instead of the image squares. What is unforgivable however, is when the app is playing there is no skip forward or backward buttons available on either the lock screen or control center. Skipping commercials or rewinding to rehear something involves the entire unlock phone, open app routine then more tapping still to get to the now playing screen. Siri apologizes but she cant skip for me in this app. This is a huge usability problem.
